Experiencing fake tattoos!

So a couple of weeks ago I was contacted by fake tattoos, a company based in Sweden who sale fake tattoos, Obviously. They kindly offered to send me a couple of tattoos for me to try out for my blog!

I love tattoos and I have one of my own and plans to get more, so I was pretty excited to try them out! Their perfect for seeing how future tattoos could look, for getting the temporay tattoo fixed! I'm infant a little tempted to get the flower tattooed for real, I've never been a flower person but I love the old style feel to these ones!

They were literally just like those ones you used to get in those candy cigarette sweets? Doesn't that take you back?! But better quality and designs! They turns out a lot better then I thought they would, give my experience with the sweet ones, I found the tattoo would never go on right and would be gone by the next day. Or maybe that was just me and my rubbish tattooing skills?!

I was really impressed with how they came out and actually got a few compliments on them especially the flowers seeing as that was the only one really seen!

Surprisingly they last a lot longer then I expected they would, but it's definitely all about placement, my wrist started to crack and a part went missing a lot sooner then the dreamcatcher! Overall they lasted for about week which is pretty good compared to the 3 to 10 day lasting period that the tattoos said they would!

The company were so helpful, answering any of my questions and allowing me to use their photos which you may have seen on my Instagram or twitter! I would definitely order from the website again as its completely inexpensive and have lots of other cute designs for you body, nails and you can even create your own tattoo. Which I thought was pretty cool!

My college week: 6

I've almost finished my skirt, it was originally an oversized top and I'm actually really happy with the way it came out apart from a few alterations that need to be gone over! Not bad for someone who changed their item of clothing and idea in the middle of the project!

We also started the 2nd phase of our clutch bag construction, which I'm really excited about and can't wait to see the final product and be able to make my on at home!

The DVD with a hole in? Yeah that's the makings of a pin hole camera. I have actually finished it but I have yet to use it to see how efficient it is!

A lot of work is sketch book stuff as Tara what most of our grading will be on, so most of my week at college and even sometimes at the weekend is finishing off pages or artist and designer research. Sketchbooks will be the death of me before the two years is up, let me tell you!

Thank god we have a week off!

OOTD - sports luxe ...kinda

Top/dress - Primark
Belt - old

I've been meaning to try this outfit for ages, after seeing a girl wearing something similar in Lanzarote, but I couldn't find my velvet shorts to go underneath as its slightly see through. I really liked how adding the belt has made it a lot more fitted and flattering! I just paired it with a pair of vans and my parka coat for the outside and I was good to go.

The Pet Tag - Introducing Roxy Ann Reid

And yes my mum gave my dog a middle name!

I've been meaning to finish and post this tag for a while because we had a bit of a scare recently but she got the all clear, my little Duracell battery!  So I thought I'd go ahead to finish and post this tag, after its been sat in my drafts for over a month.

I don't think I've done a tag yet, so I thought why not do one on my favourite thing in the whole world. Cheesy I know. She is indeed my best friend, just call me a walking cliche, and she sure knows how to avoid a camera and what dog with 3 names isn't worth introducing to the internet, right?!

What is your pets name?
Roxy Ann Reid,

Does your pet have any nicknames?
I call her anything I can think off, all completely embarrassing names you wouldn't dare say in front of your friends or a stranger but I'll share a few, get ready to cringe! We have Foxy Rox, Roxy-poos, my little bambini and far many more.

What kind of pet is she and what breed?
She is a dog obviously, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier in fact. Although she doesn't typically have the broad Staff head shape but that wasn't because her skull didn't crack when she was a pup.

How old is your pet and how long have you had them for?
She's 14 years, staffies have a life expectancy of about 12 years, and we've had her since she was a pup; she'll be 15 this year on Christmas day, the lucky begger.

How did you get your pet?
I don't really remember when we got her, I mean I wa 3 give me a break, but I do know we got her off a farm from a new born pup!

What are some quirky things about your pets personality?
She's full of personality even if she has calmed a little in her old age. Every time she comes in from a poo, charming I know, she goes a bit wild: pushing around sofas, running around in circles and just tripping people over! She even has her own greeting, where she wraps her mouth around your arm, which always worried people at first but it doesn't hurt. I love that she does it makes me feel special! She has so many little quirks!

What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?
I honestly don't know what I'd do without her strolling around the house, takin over my bed. She's such a big part of the family, when she goes It'll be like a family member will be gone. I was devestated today just thinking about taking her to the vets!

It's a bit of a soppy one I know!

The Autumn Tag and chats with my dog...

I just really wanted to make a video and tags are the perfect video today when you're feeling spontaneous as most are pretty chatty! I thought the autumn tag was the perfect one to do because it is autumn outside! Please excuse the baby chat to my dog, it just happens!

My college week: 5

Would you believe the top left is a camera?! If you've studied photography you've probably already heard of pin hole photography, but until yesterday I hadn't and I think it's super interesting and can't wait to make our own one next week!

The others are pages from my sketchbook which leas to other projects which I'll have photos of in the future! Such as the lining of our clutch bag we're in the process of making!

Hope your week has well!

OOTD - smock dress

Vintage style me - The Rose Smock Dress

This is my new favourite dress! It ticks all the right boxes: the length, colour, pattern, style. I've had my eye on a few of the items on their website, all are lovely though, but always seemed to find a reason not to buy one but this I couldn't resist. I've searched for a dress which I can wear any time of the year or day which was easy to dress up and down, well just the perfect dress really and I think this is definitely it! It's oversized enough it covers up any giant food baby's, more space to eat right? But not so that it doesn't look silly, which I find being petite it sometimes does! My only problem is its a struggle to get out of, it's vintage fabric which I assume is the reason there is very little give to it and my arms are at all sorts of odd angles getting out of it.

My favourite beauty products!

I'm definitely not much of a beauty person, but I have over the last year or two ventured slowly into the world of make up, so I thought I would share with you my favourite beauty products which I use regularly! Also sorry the photo is rubbish quality but it gets dark too early now for my to blog when I get in!

(from the back to the front)
1: LUSH Jackie Oates colour supplement - This is a recent addition to my make up collection, I wanted something that would cover my skin more then my concealer but wasn't foundation. I tried a BB cream but found this a lot better! I try not to use it on a regular basis but when I'm feeling particularly blah, it gives me a boost of confidence when I need it!

2: MUA Power Pout in Crazy in Love - I've recently done a blog post on this, here, but it also is a recent addition, I get sore and dry lips meaning I cant wear lipstick all the time and this is a great alternative!

3: Carmex lip balm -  It could have just been me but lip balms never seemed to do their job and I noticed no difference, until someone recommended me this and it works wanders! Although I'm on the look out for a mint or an original flavour, I'm not feeling the cherry!

4: Rimmel london wake me up concealer - This is my first liquid concealer, I've always only used a cheap one in a stick, but I've been converted and I don't think I'll changed from this it works wanders and I'd definitely recommend! Concealer is the item I couldn't live without!

5: MAC lipstick  in Ruby Woo - Lipstick is really the only make up I love and could buy hundreds off and MAC if my first "high end" lipstick and you can definitely tell the difference! Of al the lipsticks I own this is my favourite its such a gorgeous red colour!

6: Topshop lipstick in Charmed - I really seem to be drawn to oranges and red lipstick and this was an impulse by, to be honest I forgot I had it, but it's one of my favourite colours I own and its perfect for summer!

7: Collection extreme 24 hour felt tip liner - I can't use any other eyeliner, I've tried and failed, and the pen I first started with wasn't that great but it did the job. My friend recommended this one and its perfect, easy to use and long lasting! Would you like a review?

8: Rimmel London Scandaleyes mascara - I've been using this mascara for so long and recently tried a different one but it doesn't compare to this! It really makes my lashes stand out even with the eye liner and it achieves the look I'm going for in one coat!

How I style: leather trousers

When I first got my leather trousers, I couldn't find any blog posts or YouTube videos, which could give me any tips on what I could pair with them. So instead I had to wing it and hope for the best, like I do with everything in my life!

As its getting a whole lot caller now leading into autumn and winter I thought this would be the perfect time to do a how to style post for leather trousers, as they are perfect for the cooler months! I have actually already blogged one outfit, here, however I'd already posted it when I got the idea for this, so  the layout of how I was going to do this post has changed!

Leather trousers are a lot easier to style after i got over the initial "oh god its leather what do i do?!" phase and there probably just as easy to style as jeans are, practically going with everything and super easy to dress up and down if desired!

This is definitely a casual outfit that keeps my comfort needs in tact! I'm sure this shirt has shown up before on my post last year, but it is a favourite of mine and will probably make an appearance a lot more.

A day out: at Marwell Zoo!

Today I went to Marwell with my dad and fam. Zoos are my favourite places to visit and I get a little photo happy, it's something I never grew out of! So that's a hint for its going to be a pretty photo heavy post.

If you live in the south east, probably in Southampton, you would have probably heard about or seen the decorated rhinos that were scattered around the city and you'd find them. I know they've done something similar in other parts of the UK.

Well they've gathered them all in Marwell, all 98 of them may I add, for a final showing before they are being auctioned off to raise money and we decided to see then off, so to speak! Here are a few of my favourites...

Does anyone else remember Elmer the multicoloured patchwork elephant? Isn't this him in rhino form?!

Shameless selfie in the parka!

I have many more photos but these are few of the best and my favourites I've taken!

My college week: 4

I only had a day and a half at college today because of open evenings!

One of my projects at college is "make do and mend" where we are turning one item of clothing into something else. I'm attempting to turn an oversized Tshirt into a tulip type pencil skirt!

We also took part in open evening so I finished my Tshirt putting my design on it to wear for the fashion show.
The fashion show, what can I say about that, it was horrible! I had to get my hair and make up done in punk/hippy theme, the girl who did it was crap and then I had to stroll down a cat walk modelling my short with people staring at me. My worst nightmare!

Wednesday we gained a new member of the family, a new cousin, little baby Joseph!

Review - nspa hair rituals

Sea salt mineral spray!

I've been trying to get into a blogging schedule, like what posts to do, days and times. Tuesdays might be a beauty post, if I have anything. So this week is kind of a trial run, although I'm off to a rubbish start seeing as I've lost my iPad memory card adapter so various OOTDs are unavailable until I find it. I should really start looking after things better or get organised at that!

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been looking for a salt spray which gives you those perfect  hippy waves you get after you've been at the beach, without that horrid crispy feel. You all know the one. So when I saw this on a promotional offer in Asda I thought I'd give it a try.

I've never heard of this company before and when I looked for reviews it didn't seem anyone else really had either. The fact that it was for fine/lifeless hair really drew me to it as I'd never seen this product aimed at it before and I have to say I was really impressed!

I put it on freshly washed hair which was slightly damp and just did what the instructions said although I avoided my roots as this often makes my hair a lot greasier quicker. The best thing is it doesn't leave my hair feeling gross and me wanting to wash it straight away again and I really like the effect it had on my hair, as you can see in the picture above, I love the whole messy look and this spray is perfect for it. Although I wouldn't recommend using it on dry hair, although the bottle said you can,  as it left it feeling pretty gross.

Have you found any salt sprays that have work or even heard of this product before?!

My week at college 3

This week has been a mixture of written work and practical!

We learnt and practised various sewing skills, such as different seams and tucks and darts for future projects. We also made a start to our clutch bag making the pattern, which I am super excited about making and being able to take the skills home and make my own!

The week coming we have to take part in a mini fashion show for the college opening evening, display our tshirts we have made! If anyone knows me they'll know I cannot stand being centre of attention and prefer to be behind the scenes. But apparently it's going to be appealing for future employers and uni applications, the things I do for fashion!

Hope you've all had a good week!

MUA Power Pout review

"This is going to be the first beauty related post I've ever done, I've never been a big fan of make up but recently lip products have really caught my eye recently. I just love how they make it look like you've made an effort, when really I've grabbed the first thing I saw that was creased! ( I know I'm lazy!)

I've been looking a lip tint/stains for awhile as my lips have been dry and lipstick is just looking odd after I've applied, it makes me super angry, so I wanted something I could put on that gives the same effect. I chose the "crazy in love" as it was the darkest colour although I originally  wanted a more red/purple colour however all the MUA lip products have very pinky tones to it and I'm not a pink person at all! I refused to wear it when I was you get because I didn't want to be a typical girl, I know I was a loser!

I put it on a 9am this morning before college and it was a little shiny like lipgloss although it wasn't sticky like lipgloss can be like and the more I built it up the darker it went, which was a major plus. It definitely wasn't drying at all and felt it was actually quite moisturising!

This is a picture of when I first applied it!

This is at 5pm after college

Although the lighting is pretty bad, damn you natural light, you can still see that although the colour has faded it has definitely stained my lips, which is obviously what it is for. I'm impressed that it managed to survive from my accidental wiping, Dr Pepper, chips and the constant moving of rubbing my lips together. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to others!
