Highlights of 2014

One thing I love about having a blog is being able to look back on previous years, it's like being able to look back on the happier times. Especially after the last year our family has had, the good moments are to be treasured are they not?! So here are my highlights of 2014!

I turned 19 (a year away from 20 oh god)

I went to Benidorm with my Dad and family and was surprised by how pretty Benidorm actually was.

Antics with my pals, this is one of my favourite photos of 2014. I look forward to many more with these girlies.

I had a couple of days in Edinburgh with my nan, it's definitely the highlight of my year. I pretty much fell in love.

I'm onto my final year of college and this is one thing I'm super proud of; It's not quite finished but I'm proud none the less!

CHRISTMAS it's my favourite time of year!

Hope this year will be amazing for you!

What I got for Christmas '14

First I hope you had a bloody brilliant Christmas and that you and your family are all in good health. Also this post is not about bragging or rubbing it in anyone's facebut about sharing the lovely gifts with you guys that I'm so thankful for; I know how hard my mum works to give us the best Christmas possible. I love these posts I think of them just as any other haul and well I'm super nosy but who isn't right?!

I've been looking for the perfect moccasin for so long and on the off chance I thought I'd look on the UGG website and found these beauties! I managed to order these in the Black Friday sale £70 to £56 pretty good if I say so myself.

If you have wide feet maybe size up or if possible go in store and try on as they come up a bit tight on me what with my fat foot and all. But no pain no gain, right?!

I got several clothing items, so look out for lots of lovely new OOTDs.

Lets approach the elephant in the room, I am a Russell Brand fan. I do indeed think he's hilarious and I'm interested to read into this Revolution idea of his.

I got a Wreck this Journal, I've been eyeing one up for ages and yet I can't bring myself to actually do what it tells me, it goes against everything I believe in! Break the spine? preposterous!

The 5 year Q&A is one I'm particularly excited about doing, I've always wanted to write a diary but when it came to it I could never find the words. Each day has a question and you fill it in every year being able to look back on previous answers. A cute idea and a great keepsake for life!

Smellies, of course!

What did you get for Christmas?!

OOTD - Portfolio woe's

I have e-portfolios dues before I go back to college and I am freaking out! So after being emailed my deadlines last minute, welcome to the real word Courtney! Me and Emma did a last minute photo shoot for our portfolios, which we of course turned into OOTDS. I've basically now adopted her as my own personal photographer because she is fab!
Top - Asda, Mom Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Primark

Scarf - Primark, Coat - H&M (old)

He was going to eat me okay!
I went with quite a 50s/90s vibe, I like to think anyway, with this lovely and slightly granny-ish jumper simply pairing with my Mom jeans. These were taken before college so I wanted to be comfortable while I was silently stressing!

The Greedy Book - A wishlist

Now I don't know about you but my bookmark on the computer, iPad and iPhone are out of control with clothing and shoes. Everyone has a weakness OK, it's not like you don't do it either! So when I was contacted about The Greedy book, I thought it was definitely something I needed to check out.

You simply sign up to The Greedy book and then your good to go. I love the idea behind it, you simply search for stuff you like, on their website or on the shops, and instead of bookmark it into some random folder somewhere its kept online all in one place or various folders.

Not only that but you can find other users and look at their wishlists or click the discover and look for inspiration.

It's also so simple and easy to use, which is something I look for in a website I haven't got time to learn a new skill or whatever. Girl has got no time for that! You move the the Greedybookmarklet into the tool bar so its easy to get to and you simple press it when your on the items page.

Of course I went on Asos, where else would I go for a Christmas wishlist?! and found this dress to add to my list.

Here are just a few things I found I added to my Christmas wishlist that I would love. You can keep your wishlists private or public, perfect for the people who asks for a Christmas list you can just send a link. Life is the internet.

DIY - Chalkboard present tags

Like last year I wanted to do another cute and easy little DIY for you all so after pinning on Pinterest for hours for inspiration, I settled on a little Chalkboard gift tag.

It's such a simple idea that you only need a few things to make this little DIY. Black Chalkboard paint, some tags but you can also make these, paintbrush and of course chalk (but I didn't have any woops)

Paint your chosen design, here I was just going for a block square in the middle of the tag. I had to do two coats of this paint.

Don't be afraid to experiment with different designs, here I tried an all over paint and a stripy one. Don't forget to cover the surface your painting on as you can see I'm quite messy.

Just write on with chalk or I just used a metallic print and it still gives a great effect and add to your present!

Let me know if you have a go or any DIY's you've been doing!

OOTD - winter trousers

Jumper - H&M, Trousers - Primark, Shoes - Primark
First lets address that terrible awkward accidental pout in the last picture, have we laughed about it?  Also lets also ignore the fact I haven't blogged the last 3 days, when I'm supposed to be blogging everyday. Anyway lets move on.

Seeing as I've literally been wearing jeans and jumper for the last two weeks and we finally had a bit of light, I'd do an outfit that at least making a bit of effort. I simply chose to pair these Primark trousers with my favourite jumper, that I brought this year, and my primark slip ons. It's the perfect outfit for college it's comfortable, warm and practical!

The Winter Tag

24 animals in Christmas jumpers

It's December which means winter is nearly here which means Christmas is super close, 10 words in and the C word is out.
  1.  Top 2 Winter Beauty Essentials
I don't change up my beauty routine, I'm not really into all that. I do find though that I get dry elbows? and I need a lip scrub and balm during the winter months, so I suppose hand cream and Lip balm would be it?
  2. Top 2 Winter Fashion Essentials
Jumpers and Primarks super cosy tights or socks, I detest being cold.
  3. What shoes do you tend to wear the most in the winter?
Whatever I'm comfortable in, but probably my Docs or Vans.
  4. Favourite Winter Accessory
This year I discovered hats ie the Fedora so that and my beanie I just brought will be my go to accessory and my scarf of course!
  5. Favorite Winter Nail Polish
I rarely wear nail polish so couldn't say.
  6. Hot Cocoa or Apple Cider?
    Hot chocolate maybe?
  7. Favorite Winter Candle?
    Don't have one
  8. Snowboarding or Skiing?
I have no balance so ice, the need for balance and me don't mix, but I'd like to think I'd be good at snowboarding.
  9. Have you ever gone Ice Skating? Are you any good or do you FAIL miserably?
Nope, it looks terrifying, it's cold and I'm on little bits of metal in which I'll fall and potentially break a bone or have my fingers chopped off!
  10. Does it snow where you live?
Yes usually in january although we had it in April once.
  11. Have you ever made a snowman?
Does Half of one count or a tiny one count? My hands get wet and cold halfway through and I stop enjoying it.
  12.  What holiday do you celebrate?
  13. Favorite Christmas/Holiday song?
Fairytale of New York, not the merriest but I love it. But I'm up for any Christmas song not gunna lie.
  14.  Favorite Christmas/Holiday movie?
Santa Clause the movie, 2 and 3 etc
  15. What is your favorite winter treat? (candy cane, gingerbread, etc…)
The little tiny rolos you get in Christmas tubes, they just taste better.
  16.  Do you have anything fun planned for this winter
Nothing out of the ordinary apart from Christmas plans. I don't live the adventurous life I wish I did.

Ps. I tag Charlie, Emma and Chloe and everyone else

The lead up to Christmas

If you didn't notice it's December which means Christmas is just around the corner and what better thing to do on lead up to Christmas other then christmassy things. Here are just a few ideas.

Image found on google images

1. Go to a Christmas market near you - What better way to spend a day looking around cute little pop up stores, surrounded by Christmas decorations and music. They're often on for a couple of weeks on the lead up to Christmas and go right into the evening. Check out a list of markets in the UK here.

2.Have a lazy night in/weekend of Christmas films

3. Get making Christmas themed gifts or crafts - I find Pinterest has an amazing selection of ideas and is great for inspiration for anything you want. I actually have a pinboard just for Christmas here with ideas for gifts, decorations and just fun crafty things to do for Christmas.

4. Go looking for Christmas lights - I don't know if this is something everyone does or its just us but when I was little, when my sister was little and now my brother is little we go for a drive looking out for all the houses decorated to the nines with Christmas lights. This is definitely something more for the little- un's like siblings or your children. For some reason my brother loves it, I think its the competition more then anything.

5. See a panto - Seeing a panto in Decemeber has been a Christmas tradition I've done with my dad and family for as long as I can remember and I love it! I think it's super fun and I know Christmas is literally around the corner! This year I'm seeing Cinderella at The Mayflower in Southampton but I know do them all over the country!

Let me know what you get up to on the lead up to Christmas!

Gift guide for her

Links on my Polyvore
I find gift guides so hard to do, I feel so much pressure choosing presents for people that I don't enjoy it and stresses me out. But I gave it a go as it is December after all and you need gift inspiration or I do anyway!

  1. A designer bag - This is if you don't mind or have the money to splurge out on such a gift, but I don't know one girl who wouldn't like to have a designer bag in their possession.
  2. Mac Lipstick - Is a favourite in the beauty blogging world, I own one myself, so if someone is beauty obsessed I don't think you can go wrong!
  3. A book they've been talking about - This is more personalised to the person, some people aren't book readers (strange I know) This GirlBoss one is one I've seen floating around the internet and I'd love to give it a read.
  4. A Magazine Subscription -
  5. Perfume - Again this would be good if they've mentioned it to you or a they have a favourite they always buy. Pick up a bottle it shows you listen and know them.
  6. Ipad - it's another pricey gift but no one is without internet these days are they?!
  7. Instax Camera - I think the craze for these has passed, but I love my one and they're great for preserving memories.
  8. Lush Goodies - Like I said I've yet to find a girl who doesn't like at least one Lush product.
