Style Inspiration - Kylie Jenner

I used to write these posts when I first started my blog, I loved writing them I got to show you who was inspiring me and who I had serious wardrobe envy of, I guess I just forgot about writing them and well I'm not the most organised am I?!

Everyone knows who the Kardashians are, their show may or may not be a guilty pleasure but we'll move on swiftly from that, and their younger sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner are certainly leaving their mark in the modelling world. They both have impeccable style but Kylie is one I definitely lean more towards. Check out her Instagram and Tumblr.

Getting personal!

So this is a little more personal then I've ever gotten online and in real life probably. I actually don't even know if I will post this, so if I do be kind! This post isn't completely random and does tie in with the sunshine blogger button - writing a positive post about something you've done or experienced or anything positive really.

I'm writing this because I'm actually pretty proud and impressed with myself and also as a way to get some things of my chest. I have no structure so basically I'm just rambling, I'm a rambler. You may or may not have seen my post about going to the inlovewithfashion's LFA event, where I went to London and attended an event on my own (well with my pals) and if you know me you'll probably realise thats a pretty big and unusual thing for me to do!

I've never been the most confident girl, I'm awkward, hate crowds, don't like to be centre of attention and I'm terrible at meeting New people; I  just can't talk to people I don't know. Anyway last year, i suppose it started when I left school, any time I was asked to go out whether it was just to hang out with my friend/s or days out anything that was away from the comfort of my home and routine, I'd get this horrible feeling and would cancel last minute.

I don't know how to explain the feeling, except that I felt something horrible was going to happen, I was feeling sick and a little shaky. Usually when I was there I was fine and really enjoyed myself, it always the build up. Except there was the odd time when It affected me while I was there, like when I went to a Mcfly concert, it got to a certain point where I felt I couldn't be in the middle of the crowd, got teary and had to look for the exit to reassure myself that I knew I could get to it, I managed to stick it out because it was towards the end and I was fine as soon as I was out. I did go to speak to a doctor but she really wasn't any help and basically told me it was because I was a teenager. Charming. I didn't want to put a name on it because honestly I have no idea what it was/is and it was anything like a panic attack.

Now we got the background info out of the way. One of my new year goals was not to let myself get in the way of what could be amazing opportunities, so when I had the chance to attend the LFA event, I said yes! I went to London via train, got the tube, strolled the streets, then went to an event where loads of strangers were and had to socialise, my idea of hell basically! But I had a great day, everyone was so kind and I was fine, what was there to worry about?! Maybe if I didn't have the moral support of my friends I probably wouldn't have gone at all. But I did and I would do it again!

Anyway the reason for  writing this was because I didn't think I would ever be able to do it and I'm proud of myself! Also if you stayed to the end to read this then have virtual gold star I know it was long!

My blog inspiration!

image found on google
So I have no idea where i first saw this blog, I come across tags and screenshot them and save them for a rainy day. I haven't seen one of these since and I just thought it was a nice little tag to do and for you to learn a bit more about me and my blog.

What was the inspiration behind starting your blog?
I'd been reading blogs and watching youtube videos for ages before I started my own. I'd been diliberating for ages whether to go for it and then someone mentioned how it's an advantage for getting a job in the fashion world, which sold me! I never expected to enjoy it as much as I do and I've never looked back since! (cheeeeeese)

What inspires you to take your blog further?
Other bloggers, the fact that they have managed to make blogging a full time career, is pretty amazing! I'd be over the moon if i even had the chance of that happening!

Who/what are you inspired by?
Other bloggers such as Ashlee from Fashionrocksmysocks, Claire Marshall from HeyClaire and Jenn from Clothes encounters, to name a few of my favourites.
Also the people around me, I'm a people watcher, what can I say?

Out of your blog goals what have you achieved so far?
I know everyone says it but The fact that I even have followers is pretty mind blowing for me! I mean who'd have thought people would want to read my ramblings and see what I've been wearing that day!

What does the future hold for your blog plans?
I have some blog post ideas lined up and I'm always jotting ideas in my notepad. I'm trying to blog more and improve my blog photos, so hopefully good quality photos outside, will be happening in the warmer months of 2014. I'm especially thinking of themed ootds, so if anyone has any ideas, that would be great! Also I'm planning on getting my header and layout done so its something I really love!

What is your ultimate goal for your blog?
I would love to make this a career. But realistic I just want to make it a long term thing, maybe with a wider audience and if blogging got me a job in the fashion world then that would be bloody marvellous!

I tag anyone to do this if they like!

Lets talk lipstick!

I've been meaning to do this tag since someone tagged me to do it months back and I didn't. But better late then never right?!

How many lipsticks do you own?
My collection is no way extensive, with only a small number of 8. I am aware I only took a photo of 7 of them, I discovered the 8th hidden away with my nail varnish, so here have that.

From left to right at the back: I have Lasting finish by Kate in the shade 101, A MUA lip stain in the shade crazy in love, a MeMeMe in Tuscan Red, an MUA lipstick in shade 14, a Topshop lips in Charmed, Gothic Glam in scorned, a MAC lipstick in Ruby Woo and another MUA lipstick also apparently in shade 14. I don't know why there both shade 14 because they're different colours...

What was the first lipstick you own?
My first lipstick was the MeMeMe in Tuscan red, which I brought for my holiday in Cyprus. I remember umming and ahhing about trying out lipsticks for ages and Cyprus was my exscuse to buy one and try it out. I have a thing where I will wear something out of my comfort zone for the first time, out of my hometown; anyone else do that?

what is your favourite lipstick brand?
I'm sure you're going to know what I'm going to say and that is MAC, I'm planning on get another one soon. I'm just constantly amazed by the staying power of their lipsticks, it blows any of my others out of the water. What other lipstick can you still eat steak and still have lipstick practically untouched?!

What is your most worn lipstick? What is your favourite Red lip colour?
I've put these two questions together because they have the same answer which would be MAC's Ruby Woo. It's just the perfect red which goes with anything and its the lipstick I'm always drawn too when I'm choosing what to wear.

What is your favourite finish?
Matte, everything should be matte!

What was the last lipstick you brought?
The last lipstick I brought was Gothic Glam in Scorned, which I have yet to wear. I brought it thinking it would be okay because it didn't look to dark and then I got home put it on and I looked life death if they wore purple lipstick. Don't you just hate that?! I guess it'll have to be a Halloween number.

How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?
I don't have anything in my bag, mainly because the last one I used was my collage bag and my lips are too dead to wear lipstick. But I do have a little make up bag which I put the make up I use daily in, so I can just grab and go if needs be and that always has Ruby Woo and Charmed in it, just in case I feel spontaneous.

How do you store your lipsticks?
I'm slowly giving my room a make over, so I currently don't have any proper storage for my lipsticks. I put them in a tray with my nail varnish which sits in the top of my wardrobe. I do have my eye on cute draws.

Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
I really want a nude/pink I can wear everyday, I really want to try out one of the Topshop Lip bullets, so if you guys have any recommendations let me know!

I tag anyone and everyone especially

Inlovewithfashion LFA event

So I was luckily enough to be able to go to the LOVE LFA event in London with my college pals who all have blogs, so check them out they'll be linked under a picture somewhere. We traveled down to London on the train and tube, you should have seen my planning I had print outs, apps on my phone, double triple checking times and routes. I was a crazy women, I was not getting lost in London!

I wasn't too sure what to wear, is that not always a problem? Travelling and strolling around London I need to be layered and it was supposed to rain so I'd need a coat, but the event itself was inside! Do you see my problem?! Anyway how can you go wrong with a fluffy jumper and leather trousers with a kimono thrown on top to add a little something.

Charlie & Emma

Chloe has a blog, she needs to write her first post though!!!

We got a sneak peek at the S/S14 collection to come, they have some dreamy stuff coming. Pastel and pattern galore, it's definitely one to look out for!

It was love at first sight with this kimono I'll definitely be snapping it up as soon as possible!

They each gave a speech, which was interesting and really inspiring! Its given me the incentive to become more passionate and serious about my blog! They were all so lovely and welcoming. I really love what Naomi from Twoshoesonepair is wearing, I'd never thought that combination would work and I don't think I'd ever be able to pull it off!

We even got a goodbag which is pretty exciting some cute stuff in there!

They also had a little sample sale, so one of pieces were only £10 which was a bargain. I picked up this gorgeous playsuit, which I cant wait to style and put up on my blog. It has such a gorgeous print and will be perfect for summer! Although I will be playing around with it to make it winter appropriate!

I just want to say a massive thank you to the Love team for having us!

OOTD - More issues than Vogue

Jumper - Ebay
Treggings - Topshop (old)

You may or may not have seen this jumper on other bloggers, honestly Its where i saw it and had to snap it up straight away. It's the perfect jumper for those winter lazy days for a girl studying fashion, no? Being black and white its easy to style with anything: jeans, leather trousers, leggings. I've paired it with my trusty dogtooth treggings for maximum comfort.

I do have a confession to make part of this outfit is a lie, I did change my shoes to my white Docs that you may have seen on my instagram to start breaking them in, forgive me?!

Courtney x

OOTD - (insert witty title here)

Jumper - Asos
Mom Jeans - Topshop
Canvas Docs - Schuh

First off I have to apologise for my post title, I find thinking of those the hardest part of writing up a post!

My hair is as big as lions mane in this photo! I paired my trusty cropped fluffy jumper with my mom jeans for maximum comfort and warmth, just pairing them with my canvas docs for a day of looking around the range and helping out at my college opening evening. I thought this was the prime opportunity to wear ruby woo on my lips to add a little colour!

January favourites 2014

I've attempted to do a favorites post before, but I find I cant do it monthly because I don't really try out new things; I'm a creature of habit! But it's a new year and I've really been loving some things that I wanted to share with you guys. Without further ado have some fashion, beauty and random bits, enjoy.

Bag - Zara, Phone Case - Primark
Yes, it's that bag again, but what a bag it is! Not only is it the perfect size, structured has separate parts and a padded one for your ipad (genius) it keeps a heap load of stuff in. More then you could ever imagine. It's my go to bag even when it doesn't go perfect for any outing.

I felt my phone needed a new case and I saw this little cutie in Primark and for £2 how could I say no really?!

Necklace - Waiste
This will more then likely be the necklace of the year! I'd been searching high and low for the perfect moon necklace that I could wear with practically everything and just give a little something special to any outfit. It does that trick, I've had lots of compliments on it and I can't wait to wear it more. Just what I've been looking for!

Jumper - Topshop
It's cropped, super soft and cuddly, need I say more?!

Dress - asos
You may or may not have seen this dress in a previous outfit post. It's just been the go to dress of this month, it's just an easy smock with a bold print to throw on to make it look like instant effort when there is none at all, what's not to like?!

OOTD of the month

I don't think I've seen anyone put an OOTD in their monthly favourites, but I thought It was a nice little touch for a post that can be a little bit samey? I looked back on the OOTD's of this month and this one definitely stood out, it just sums up me in an outfit. Causal and comfy. I'll leave the link to the post if you want to check it out here!

Lady Gaga Fame, Beyonce Heat

I got these two perfumes for Christmas and I love the smell of them both so much that I've literally been alternating days because I can't choose which one is my favourite.

Shampoo - Asda, Clip - old

I brought baby shampoo because I was told that it would help strip the colour from my blog, I was then told it doesn't and to stick to head and shoulders. However this makes my hair feel so soft that I don't ever want to part from it and I will continue to use it, also I really like the smell.

I put the clip in because the last week or two, I've just been throwing my hair up in it to keep out my face and it just creates a quick laid back look and its lot quicker then putting it in a hair bobble, lazy or what?!

other things

fairy lights - The range

These are just a few random bits and bobs in my room that I got this month, that I was super excited about. I'm easily pleased.

The first ones being fairy lights, I've wanted fairylights in my room for soooo long and I've finally got a bed that allows me to have them. We're going for a shabby chic look and I thought these little lantern balls, were to cute to pass and they make pretty pattern on the wall when the lights are on.

The Bird cage being another thing I've wanted for ages, I just love the look about them and I think they're super cute. Obviously a candle should be in the middle, but apparently that wasn't an option (I blame sharing with my sister) so I placed my little buddha inside for safe keeping.

I'm a naturally cold person so if there is something out there that is going to keep me warm and be cute and snuggly then I am all for it! This caught my eye in Primark and I couldn't pass it up, many a nights me and my elephants have cosied up on the sofa watching TV.

I've been eating these like they're going out of fashion, I'm a pretty fussy eater so when I find something I like i eat loads of it until I can bare it no more. Except chips I love chips. However for now I see a happy relationship for me and golden wanders in the future. yummm.

Alongside the usual Elvis Presley and Jake Bugg, I've been really listening to Haim and I finally went and brought their album the other day. It's fantastic and you should definitely check it out!

Klorane Nettle shampoo Review

When I received this in the post, I realised I was in a bit of a dilemma. I'm currently trying to get back to blonde which means washing my hair as often as I can so the auburn is faded enough I can start the process, so the option of washing my hair less was not the most appealing. (although any other time I would have snatched it out your hand) However for the greatness of my blog I sucked it up and thought i'd tried it out for all you guys who feel the same hair washing pain I do!

Klorane uses plant extracts that are both safe and effective to create products that help your hair in different ways. This nettle shampoo is supposed to balance out the oil in your hair and prevents if from becoming to greasy too quickly, meaning less hair washes. This particular shampoo for a 200ml bottle is priced at £5.10 on Escentual.

I have to wash my hair every other day without fail, the 3rd day its to greasy to even put it up and having a fringe doesn't always help. I'd probably wash it everyday if I knew it wasn't actually that healthy for you hair.

I had to use more of the product to get it to lather, then I would having using my usual shampoo, I think that may be because had quite a watery consistency to it. The smell, I don't really no how to explain, it wasn't a horrible smell but it was nothing compared to a coconut smelling one, which is no surprise. It wasn't a smell that put me off using it basically.

Once it was dry, it left my hair shiny and soft. I washed it on the Monday and honestly I still washed it Wednesday morning before college like I normally would have and I couldn't get away with not. However on Tuesday my hair was still feeling clean and I was able to wear it down, I'd normally wear it up somehow or it starts feeling horrible the same day. The results were the same the other times I've used it and I will continue to use it as it does make my hair feel lovely and that extra day of good hair was great! It definitely did what it said "prevents hair from becoming greasy too quickly" it would.

I'd definitely recommend this product, it might work better for you, or check out some of their other products. Which I'm definitely going too!

What I'm currently reading:

The Moaning of Life - Karl Pilkington

So this is my first post of what is hopefully a Sunday thing, although I did post that post 2 Sundays ago now. oops sorry. I still need a quirky name for  this series, hmm.

I brought this book with a voucher I got for Christmas, I find Karl Pilkington hilarious and I think we'd get a long great. So I picked up his newest book on his newest series 'The Moaning of life' and have slowly been reading it.

You see me and biography type books just don't mesh well as I do with a good thriller. I think this might be the slowest time it's took me to read about. I'm one of those who starts reading and wont eat, sleep or talk until I've finished it, often resulting in finishing the same day. I just can't help it, it's a problem! Hello my name is Courtney and I read my books to fast without savoring them.

That all said that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying it, he's hilarious and I definitely need to check out this show.
