Gluten free flapjacks - A recipe

Recently my mum found out she can't eat gluten any more, which has taken a lot of adjusting for her; she found a recipe for these flapjacks and they taste amazing. Last week I decided I'd make them for her (and myself of course) and share them with the internet. They're super easy to make so good for the beginners like me! 

225g of Gluten free porridge oats // 170g butter // 110g Demera sugar// 55g golden syrup //

  1. preheat oven at 170 degrees and grease tin 
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan 
  3. Weigh out the sugar and then spoon the syrup on top
  4. Add to the melted butter and heat through until sugar has slightly dissolved
  5. Remove from heat and mix the oats in 
  6. Spread into tin and bake for 20 mins
  7. Once out of the oven, gently cut the mix into squares and leave to cool 
This is such an easy recipe that you can build on; adding fruit or chocolate chips to the mix to make them extra delicious. You can also switch out the butter for a vegan substitute, which I'm definitely thinking about doing. It's really just the perfect snack!
